Our work is only made possible by a team of over 30 volunteer assessors, located across our region, who telephone or visit the many projects that apply to us for grants. Their recommendations are integral to our grant making process and invaluable to our grants panel in making their final decisions.
We are looking for people of all ages, from all walks of life, who are interested in their local area and would like to make a contribution to their community.
In the words of a Two Ridings Assessor
Bill Ferguson has been Voluntary Grant Assessor with Two Ridings Community Foundation for 7 years. He has worked on half a dozen grant schemes and applications from across North and East Yorkshire.
Why did you get involved with the Two Ridings Community Foundation?
“I wanted to use the skills and experience I gained working in the chemical industry to put something back into the community, and the Community Foundation is the perfect opportunity to support small, deserving initiatives at a very local level.
I especially value working in areas of high deprivation, parts of Hull for example, where small amounts of funding make a real difference.”
“The chance to help enthusiastic and committed groups is very rewarding.”
