Goodwin Development Trust is a successful community business that seeks to improve people’s quality of life through developing and delivering gap services. We are now looking to recruit professional and confident individuals into the Haven Project. Haven has been working with refugee communities in Hull for ten years and has a wealth of experience in providing an emotional support and therapeutic service. The aim of the service is to reduce isolation and to promote resilience and restore self respect, especially to survivors of torture. The project works to address the needs of both individuals and families.
Psychotherapist (21 hours per week)
Actual annual salary for hours 21 per week – £16,587 (FTE £29,225)
Fixed term until 14th May 2016
The Haven Project provides a ‘holistic’ therapeutic service to refugees and asylum seeker individuals and families. The successful candidate will provide psychotherapy services for refugees and asylum seekers who have survived exile and persecution and who are experiencing mental distress. The responsibilities of this post include receiving referrals and arranging assessments with clients who meet the service criteria, carrying a caseload of short and long term clients, whilst ensuring that clinical standards meet the ethical standards of BACP, UKCP or BPS. You will also be required to develop expertise within Goodwin services in relation to the identification and treatment of trauma and maintain accurate records. It is essential that you have a diploma or equivalent in Psychotherapy and be UKCP or BACP registered. You must have a minimum of five years post qualification experience. Being a BACP Registered Supervisor would be an advantage but not essential.
