Goodwin Community College is focused on the delivery of skills provision which equips its learners with qualifications, skills and experience which enable them to move on; to realise their potential and secure opportunities to improve the quality of their lives and prospects; either through developing skills to enhance their everyday lives, to progress to further education or training or to secure employment.
We are seeking to develop a team of Supply Skills Tutors who can deliver within this area, supporting learners to achieve and progress through targeted and innovative programmes which address key areas of weakness and respond to local labour market needs.
Skills Tutor (Supply) (Adhoc Hours – as and when required) (JOB REF: GCCSUP)
Hourly Rate: £15 per hour
We are seeking to recruit a pool of supply Skills Tutors with experience in delivering classroom and work based programmes which are focussed on two or more of our five key areas of programme delivery;
(i) Accredited & unaccredited employability programmes
(ii) Functional Skills Maths, English or ICT
(iii) Youth Work led provision
Supply Skills tutors will be required for both ad-hoc and planned provision and will be agreed in advance with the Community College Training Manager.
Supply Skills Tutors will form part of the Goodwin Community College team and will be directly involved in supporting young people and adults to access these programme areas, both as standalone programmes, as part of a broader programme of study, or work based learning programme including Traineeships or Apprenticeships. In addition you will be expected to contribute to the development of quality and engaging teaching & learning programmes and resources through sharing best practice and staff development sessions.
You will be professional, supportive and have excellent communication skills and be flexible in your hours of work. Applicants must have a minimum Level 3 (PTLLS) or above teaching qualification, with separate or embedded specialisms at a minimum of Level 3, and have at least 2 years experience of delivery of accredited qualifications in a similar setting.
