As everyone is well aware of the new big ‘Wind Mill’ of Croda standing 408ft (124.5m) a local company CARAFAX are running trials on their premises with a scaled down caravan park version of Croda’s wind turbine only a few meters high.

CARAFAX have been operating for over 25 years and have slowly built up a comprehensive range of caravan products including Sealants, Plumbing, Roadlighits, Roofing and Extrusions.

John Cummings of CARAFAX said

The latest caravan trial will help us decide whether wind turbines.

  1. Are cost effective
  2. Will allow caravanners to use LED lighting, electrical sockets for charging phones powering laptops and the occasional kettle boil without problems.

All energy would normally be piped or cabled in from the National grid throughout caravan parks, but with a wind turbine all energy is stored into batteries ready for use as and when it’s needed. This would then supply the site free, clean and renewable energy.

Croda’s main achievement was to have a renewable energy source and further reduce the site’s carbon emissions which is becoming more of an issue with today’s climate.

Want more information about the wind turbine call Croda’s helpline on 0800 9155263.
