Traineeship Co-ordinator (JOB REF: GTC01)
Full Time (37 hours per week)
Salary £22,000 – £24,000 (depending on qualifications and experience, fixed on appointment)
Fixed Term until December 2015
We are seeking an experienced, confident and reliable individual to lead on the design, development and delivery of pre-traineeship, traineeship and apprenticeship programmes for young people aged 16 to 24. You will be responsible for the delivery of Employability Skills programmes to groups of young people not currently in education, employment or training in order to provide clear progression routes between the programmes and beyond. You will be responsible for all aspects of the traineeship programme including the recruitment of trainees, securing suitable work placements, developing individual Learning Plans, preparing and maintaining course files in line with the relevant inspection frameworks and delivering outstanding, accredited Preparation for Work and Employability Skills Programmes within a classroom setting. You will also be responsible for developing strong partnerships with a variety of agencies that work with young people. It is essential that you possess a minimum Level 3 Teaching Qualification, have a minimum of 3 years proven experience of working with young people with limited skills, supporting them into employment and training opportunities, as well as a proven track record of working with local employers and apprenticeship providers in order to provide appropriate progression routes. Being qualified to Level 2 in Maths and English, you will also have experience of initial and diagnostic assessment for these subject areas. An Assessing and/or Internal Verifier qualification in one or more vocational area would be an advantage, but is not essential.
